To the Finland Station

“To the Finland Station: A Study in the Acting and Writing of History” (Harcourt, Brace & Co., 1940) fictionalizes the history of the origins of socialism connected to revolutionary thought from the French Revolution through the arrival of Lenin at the Finlyandsky Station in Saint Petersburg, Russia during the Russian Revolution. Written by Edmund Wilson (1985-1972), a literary critic who was an outspoken critic of capitalism who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from John F. Kennedy.

Edith would read this book at night for much of 1976.
